“Sit Up Or You Are Out” – Kenny Ogungbe Warns Singer Jaywon

In what may be a very serious and stern warning, the front man of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe has told one of the singers on the label, Jaywon, that he has to sit up or faced being thrown out into the streets. It can be recalled that there has been grapevine news that the
‘This Year’ crooner was having issues with the label, with some even claiming that he had called it quits but Kennis Music’s parent company, Kennis Communications, came out immediately to debunk the story, saying that the ‘Madantin’ singer actually signed a 3-album deal and only one, ‘Meet Jaywon,’ has been released so far, stating that he must stay put and complete the three albums.
The statement also cemented the label’s position on the Jaywon’s issue by declaring that “discussion of Jaywon’s contract renewal is not on the front burner.” While some industry buffs are of the opinion that Kennis Music has a track record of maltreating their artistes and tying them down to a contract that is not favourable and also not wanting them to walk out, pointing out to the situation that forced out 2Face, Eddy Remedy and Kelly Handsome as examples, others think the singers are actually the ones to be blamed in such situations.
Meanwhile, authorities in the industry has warned Jaywon to honour his contract with Kennis Music as Kelly Hansome who reneged on his, is yet to get his career back on track since then. A word, they say, is enough for the wise.
