Scents That (Really!) Seduce Him...

You know what gets him going — a flash of lacy lingerie, some naughty texts, a flirty hair toss. Turns out, your perfume can also make a man’s pulse race. There’s no doubt that scent is a powerful thing: The nose can pinpoint up to 10,000 different smells. But would he go to bed with you just because of the bouquet you’re wearing? Actually...yes! After polling 463 guys, we uncovered titillating findings like that and others. Read on for all the scentual results! Scent arouses men on a very primal level,  “Pleasant aromas can actually stimulate parts of the brain directly connected to sexual desire,” he explains. And that can lead to some lusty thoughts.

84% believe perfume has the power to turn them on or off.
Surprise! Yummy scents got the most votes among the guys we polled. The reason, says Dr. Hirsch, is that these aromas connect to deep emotional cravings. “Sweet and tasty scents are familiar. Smelling them reminds guys of simple childhood days, so they feel secure enough to let their attraction and affection show.” In that sense, tasty notes work on a subconscious level to loosen him up. That’s all the more reason why he’ll want to nibble you. Still, stick with subtle blends — not of the Krispy Kreme variety — or something with a sweet base that’s blended with other ingredients dudes love.... Runner-up scents in our poll: 27 percent preferred fruity notes, while 18 percent found florals appealing.
36% say scrumptious scents drive them crazy on a first date.
He’s already transfixed by your looks, but wearing a scent shows you’re doing something extra special — and sensual — for him. “In that way, fragrance can enhance feelings and emotions,”. It can even change our perceptions in the early days of dating.  “But when I got a whiff of her exotic Gucci Envy scent, I did a 180 — I suddenly saw her sexy, daring side, which I loved.” So let loose and play with scents when the mood strikes.
81% think a woman’s fragrance could boost her overall attractiveness.
Since caveman days, the human brain has been hardwired to size up potential mates simply based on scent,  The body actually emits odors that spur us to hook up with and pursue fertile partners. That’s why you shouldn’t pour perfume on your skin — a light mist is all you need so it can mix and mingle with your natural aroma. “When I sniffed my girlfriend’s citrus perfume while we were watching the sun set on the beach, it made me want to move a few inches closer to her because I found it so intoxicating,” says Barry, 26. “I couldn’t resist the urge to make out with her, so we ditched the sand and headed to the bedroom for a little fun in the sheets.” Sometimes, a tiny bit of sweat can help release your sultry powers and reel him in.“One time, I smelled Glow by J.Lo on a girl, and all I wanted to do was groove closer with her...all night.” Encourage him to work up a sweat too. Research shows that the chemicals in male perspiration stimulate sexual desire in women (no wonder he looks oh so appealing post exercise).

35% would go to bed with a woman just because her scent appealed to them.
Leaving your panties in his bed excites him, sure. But leaving a delicate trail of scent behind? Now that can drive him insane with desire. “Fragrance is the quickest way to tap into and change a guy’s mood, “Even when he’s asleep, your smell holds the power to arouse him.” Think of perfume as seductive foreplay, and experiment with different blends to keep him guessing and wanting more. For example, if you normally wear something rosy and floral, playfully spritz a complex, spicier blend on your sheets, pillows, lingerie, even a love letter. The unexpected notes of the fragrance will really unleash his imagination.

42% say they have fantasized about a woman’s perfume.
A fantasy can drive him so wild, in fact, he’ll just have to ravish you. “I once had an innocent crush on a girl who wore this amazing Asian floral scent,” says Marco, 31. “After I hugged her good-bye one day, the scent rubbed off on my scarf and lingered for days. Every time I smelled it, I kept thinking about her and dreaming about being with her and kissing her. I literally couldn’t get the scent out of my head, to the point where I actually broke up with the girl I was dating at the time to be with the one who smelled so good.”

55% said their girlfriends rarely overdo it when applying perfume.
To make sure you don’t knock out his nose, stick to misting your pulse points (inner wrists, elbows, neck, backs of the knees). The warmth of the skin will slowly release the fragrance into the air as you move. Keep in mind too that the olfactory receptors in the brain become immune to most smells after about 15 minutes,That means you can’t always trust your own nose to tell you when you’re oversaturated...but (unfortunately) it will be obvious to others. “I’m a physical trainer, and I used to work with this obnoxious woman who must have bathed in some oriental scent before her session Now, even the slightest breeze of that perfume makes my temper start to flare up.” To make sure you’re not setting off scent alarms, try to apply the same amount — one to two dabs or mist the air and walk through the cloud — in the morning and before going out at night. The best place to spray your guy? His chest hair, which acts as an “excellent fragrance diffuser. The scent will last for hours, so you’ll want to get closer to him.
