BREAKING NEWS: Jonathan appoints Tukur as Nigeria Railway chairman!

President Goodluck Jonathan today, Tuesday appointed the immediate past chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, as chairman of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC).

In a two-paragraph statement, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sam Nwaobasi said that the appointment is with immediate effect.
The statement reads: “His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has approved the following appointments: (i)Alhaji Bamanga Tukur – as Chairman, Nigerian Railway Corporation.”
“(ii)Dr. Ghaji Ismaila Bello – as Director-General, National Population Commission with effect from January 8th, 2014.”
