Following the 'chicken' impeachment of
the former deputy governor of Enugu state, a Reverend/politician
identified as Ralph Nwoye has now been confirmed by the House of
Assembly as the new deputy.
On Tuesday the erstwhile deputy governor Sunday Onyebuchi was impreached over allegations that he raised chickens behind his official quarters and failed to represent Governor Sullivan Chime at some events. As at press time, very little is known of Mr. Nwoye’s political antecedent but he is said to be a former caretaker local government chairman in the state.
He is also said to be a pastor at the Christ Ascension Church in Enugu.
The former deputy governor has indicated that he would challenge his removal in court, as there are reports that his removal was masterminded by Governor Chime.
Meanwhile, speaking at the All Nigerian Editors Conference in Katsina,
veteran journalist, Dan Agbese, has described the removal of Mr.
Onyebuchi for raising chickens 'as a mockery of democracy and abuse of legislative power.'
I couldn't agree more with Mr Agbese particularly considering that
Governor Chime is accused of equally running a piggery at the state
house as well.
