In Africa, marriage is a sacred institution that is not toiled with in any way. For Africans, especially Nigerians, the union between a man and a woman must be protected from external interference. That is why parents advise their children to endure their marriages, even when there are clear evidences of trouble or incompatibility between the husband and wife.

In the olden days, parents were actively involved in the choice of their children’s spouses, though such cultures have now been thrown into the gutters due to civilization.

However, when a lady leaves her parents, her mother ought to let go and allow her enjoy her new home, while such mother stays glued to her own husband. But once in a while, she pays visits to her daughter, especially when she gives birth to a new baby or her help is urgently needed.

Some years ago, Super Eagles defender, Joseph Yobo, took former beauty queen, Adaeze Igwe as wife. The two moved to Turkey after Yobo joined a Turkish football club, Fenebache.

But shortly after that, Yobo’s mother-in-law, Abigail Igwe, was accused of causing trouble in the marriage of her daughter due to her continued stay in her the lady’s matrimonial home.

Recently, pictures hit the internet showing the mother and daughter looking hot and now, some of Yobo’s fans have hit out at his mother-in-law. “Why is this woman always with her daughter? Her intrusion is getting out of hands,” one of the fans said.

“She should just give her daughter breathing space,” another fan submitted. “Can’t she stay with her own husband?”
an aggrieved fan queried, while another said, “but she got married to John Fashanu about three years ago, so why is she is not always with him,” asked another fan.

This might be a little graphic but I just want to let everyone know that I am okay. I am a survivor of domestic violence with a boy I dated for 8 months.
I really thought everything was fine but he constantly questioned me about cheating and flirting. Non sense. I never looked at someone the way he looked at me. Thought I loved this boy.
How can someone that 'loves' me do this to me? The scars on my chest are way worse and extend down to my right nipple, completely scarred. The skin on my shoulder has been completely skinned. And i have bruising on my rib cage, neck, and my muscles. I was kicked out of a moving vehicle, then beaten and dragged, as I blacked out and was left lying there in my own puddle of blood.
Doctors said I could have died if I had not made it when I did. I am so blessed and beyond lucky to be alive and have so much support from friends, family, and strangers. As I try to recover, I ask you to please keep me in your prayers. I have to wear a neck brace for 3-4 weeks, an arm cast and I can barely walk for now. Thank you for all the love. I hope to be an inspiration to women and anyone involved in domestic violence.

Doris Simeon Finally Opens up About Her Failed Marriage & Daniel's Alleged Marriage to Stella Damasus!

This would be the first time Doris ever gave a lengthy interview about her very much publicized separation from ex-hubby Daniel Ademinokan, and her thoughts about fellow actress Stella Damasus being married to  Daniel. There's nothing as good as hearing from the horse's mouth, so please read.
Excerpts are from Doris Simeon's recent interview with TheNation.
  • Did you ever imagine that you were going to be separated someday?
No, I never thought I would be separated someday. Yes, it definitely hit me when it happened. But life goes on.
  • But a lot of people had the impression that you couldn’t be bothered and that you wanted this freedom?
No, if I wanted the freedom, I have it now; so, why am I not exploring the situation? Instead of that, I am trying to make money. I have a lot of responsibilities. So, rather than sit down and mourn all day, I have to
face the reality.

My mother was a strong woman and I learnt a lot from her. She went through a lot, which I knew of from when I was a little child. In spite of all that she went through, she kept moving on. My mom had a stroke and survived it; and she still looked radiant. My mom jumped from one trade to another. When I think of that, I would be like, this woman, na you born me, I must do that thing wey you teach us. Those are the things I just look back and then I just move on. I have a child that I need to work for, so that he won’t face the kind of suffering I faced in the future.

  • Will you consider marriage again?
I don’t know, but I am not ruling it out because I am human. I might just fall head over heels in love again. But let me still be doing what I am doing. Wherever the Lord takes me, I will go.
  • What would you do differently when you find love again?
I will probably right the wrong things I did then. I mean I will do the right thing three times over.
  • What were those things?
Can I even point them out? I can’t point them out.
  • Was it that you didn’t have enough time for the family?
It wasn’t that in anyway. It is just one of those things you have to deal with. People will say one thing or the other to defend their own sides. When I’m on set, I want to quickly do whatever I am doing. This is because I see a movie script as an examination; and when you have an examination you want to quickly do it and then relax. That is the way I work. I just want to do it and know that I am done with this script, so I can face my family. So, it’s not that I get carried away with work. I just want to do the best I can at that particular time that I am doing that job and get out from that set and face my family or face whatever I need to do next.
  • At a time, you and Daniel were one of the best couples in Nollywood. What could have gone wrong?
Anything could have gone wrong. Anything could have triggered a fire anywhere. You don’t know what might happen the next minute. We are just trying to make things go right, but God has the final say. Yes, things happen in life and till eternity you keep asking that question what went wrong. But if you dwell on that, you won’t move forward because everything that happens has God’s hands in it. There is a reason why anything happens and it has been written that it will happen that way.
  • After a year, what did you do?
Funny enough, after a year, I was like, ‘Doris, how do you think you want to move on with your life? What should you do to move on? That was when I decided not to dwell on the past; otherwise, I will go hungry. People that want to laugh at me are out there, so I will rather make them say, ‘Aha Aha, what’s happening? And I am moving ahead with my life.
  • What is the relationship between the two of you now, given that you have a child for him?
We have a child, so we talk. The boy is there, so why won’t we talk? We cannot be sworn enemies forever. Not every relationship leads to marriage, yet the people involved still talk.
  • But how do you feel knowing that your colleague is supposedly married to him?
She’s a woman and he is a man. Na man I go still follow so (laughs). In this industry, most of us are colleagues; it is not that we are close friends or something. No be say na my mama born am now.
  • What about all those statements credited to you that you will deal with Stella Damasus?
I don’t know where they got all those stuff from. As a matter of fact, The Nation is the first newspaper I’m opening up to so much on my marriage because I know that you guys are not here to get something scandalous from me. Recently, somebody used my name on BBM to get money from people. I now traced that to a Facebook account. The person’s Facebook has my name, my pictures and everything. And they were probably getting their stories and stupid talk from all the things the person was writing. In fact, the person’s fan page has more likes than my own original fan page. Can you imagine? The person has a BB with Doris Simeon and she was telling people she wants to do a movie that they should send N10,000 into a certain account.

BREAKING: President of Uganda signs Anti-Homosexuality Bill into law!

It's my job to keep you updated, so here's what's up at the moment, dearies - Uganda's President Museveni has signed the country's anti-gay bill into law, despite warnings from US President Barack Obama that it would “complicate our valued relationship” and will mark a “step backward” for all Ugandans and reflect poorly on the country’s commitment to protect the human rights of its people.”

The bill states that first-time offenders will be sentenced to 14 years in jail. Then life imprisonment for repeat

offenders, as well as acts involving a minor, a disabled person or where one partner is infected with HIV.
The bill originally proposed the death penalty for some homosexual acts, but that was later removed amid international criticism.

In December last year, Uganda’s Parliament passed  the bill but President Yoweri Museveni said he would only sign the bill into law if he had proof that gay people are ‘made’ and ‘not born’ into their sexuality. And last week he changed his stand, saying a team of Ugandan scientists had reported that there is no evidence that homosexuality is caused by genetics.

However, over the weekend in South Africa, former archbishop Desmond Tutu had criticised President Museveni for supporting the bill, describing it as “evil”.

Pockets N1.5m per script..MERCY JOHNSON NOW NIGERIA’S BUSIEST ACTRESS!

Mercy Johnson is Nigeria’s busiest actress, YES International! investigations have revealed. The Igbira, Kogi State born movie star, according to our findings, is also one of the richest actresses right now. She allegedly pockets between N1.5m and N2m per script. And ever since she became the hottest thing in Nollywood, no month passes by without her interpreting at least two movie roles.

We even learnt that producers queue up now to have her take part in their movies, with most of them crediting her account up front. “The situation has been like that for some time now. Even when she was pregnant, she was still working non-stop, including shooting a movie in the United States of America with her bulging tummy.

As a matter of fact, the producers were so desperate that they started writing scripts to align with her pregnancy”. Among Mercy’s latest works are: Obioma The Slave Girl, Sleeping Walker, Heart of A Twin 1 & 2, Mud of Hardship, Dumebi and Bitterleaf Cyhtia, There are also Daniella, First Experience, Endless Agony, Immaculate Heart, Painful Soul, Tears of Madness, Weeping Kingdom, Troubled King, Baby Oku in America, Dumebi in School, Somma The Local Champion, Ebute The Only Girl, Leave My Tears 1 & 2, Mary The Hunter, Cry of A Widow, Voice of A Mother, etc. Obviously busy as a bee, a source, however, advised that Mercy should learn from those before her and invest wisely. “And this is why:

There was a time that Liz Benson was the hottest thing in the industry. But where is she today? How busy is Liz right now? Same thing with Patience Ozokwor, Victor Osuagwu and the rest of them.

Even Genevieve Nnaji. My advise to her is: Maximize this and make good use of the opportunity because some opportunities don’t come twice”. Married to Odianosen Okojie and blessed with a daughter, Purity, she is the fourth child in a family of seven. In love with playing monopoly and enjoying sentimental music, well endowed Mercy attended Nigerian Navy Primary and Secondary Schools in Lagos.

An unabashed admirer of Genevieve, her lead role in Kenneth Nnebue’s movie, The Maid, thrust her onto prominence. The daughter of a retired Naval personnel, that first major role fetched her only N50,000. But today, the story has changed. Born on August 28, 1984, her favorite food is Eba with Egusi
